Ms. Allen will present “Pediatric Massage and Nurturing Touch for Hospitalized Children”.
During this class, participants will learn to use appropriate touch therapy techniques for children who have been hospitalized. Hands-on exercises will include adapting storytelling for massage time and utilizing common childhood toys to increase tactile stimulation. A series of massage strokes will be taught and hands-on practice will demonstrate how these techniques may be especially beneficial to children.

Ms. Allen will present “How Does Pediatric Massage Therapy Benefit Children with Autism (ASD)?”
The incidence of Autism Spectrum Disorders is growing at a rapid rate. Many healthcare professionals and caregivers are seeking various therapies to introduce appropriate stimulation for these children. Research indicates that massage may provide relaxation, stress reduction and calm muscle spasms. Research has also demonstrated that this type of intervention may promote more on-task and social relatedness behavior during play, children with ASD show less erratic behavior, and are more attentive after receiving massage therapy. Ms. Allen will present “Massage for Children with Cancer and nurturing techniques for the entire family.”
Many families express that they experience anxiety and stress as their child undergoes treatment, and the stress can continue even when their children are not receiving active treatment. There are many secondary effects that require care and follow up. Massage therapy can be a helpful tool in not only easing anxiety, but also the side effects of treatment.

Touch Therapy for Liddle Kidz
During this introductory class, participants will learn to use appropriate touch therapy activities for healthy children. Hands-on exercises will include adapting storytelling for massage time and utilizing common childhood toys to increase tactile stimulation. A relaxation series of massage strokes will be taught and hands-on practice will demonstrate how this sequence may be especially beneficial to children.
Touch Therapy for Common Childhood Ailments
During this class participants will learn how to adapt touch therapy to provide relief for some of childhood's most common ailments including Sinus and Chest Congestion, Constipation, Stomach Aches, Headaches, Eye Fatigue, Ear Aches, Growing Pains, everyday stress and tension. Contraindications for providing touch therapy during times of illness will be discussed. (June 18–20, 2010)

Join Liddle Kidz Founder, Tina Allen, at the 2010 Oncology Healing Massage Summit for a special presentation on Massage for Children with Cancer.
To a child who has been diagnosed with Cancer, their symptoms are often accompanied by pain, anxiety, loneliness and fear, so, it makes sense that many practitioners, and families, are turning to the nurturing touch of massage therapy to provide much needed care and comfort. During this session participants will review the most common types of childhood Cancers and methods used to treat children with Cancer. Research benefits of using massage therapy for pediatric clients will be discussed. Additionally, participants will learn, and practice, a hands-on protocol to be used with pediatric oncology clients. (Friday, April 30, 2010 & Saturday, May 1, 2010)

Conference on Children’s Development in the 21st Century
Tina Allen of Liddle Kidz, will present a workshop on Peaceful Touch® for educators attending The Council of Human Development Conference on Children’s Development in the 21st Century, to be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
The conference follows, and expands upon, the themes laid out in the book “Human Development in the 21st Century: Visionary Ideas from Systems Scientists” (edited by Alan Fogel, Barbara J. King, and Stuart Shanker) forthcoming in late January from Cambridge University Press.
The conference is intended to be of particular importance for connecting scientists and researchers with health and education professionals, as well as, parents. The council’s intention is to establish a direct link between scientific achievements on one hand and community needs on the other. Furthermore, the conference will be a place where researchers will be able to exchange the latest findings as well as the developing ideas in all areas where a systems approach is applicable. (May 29 – June 1, 2008.)
